Sports market intelligence glossary

The vocabulary of reading sports and prediction markets, in plain English. See what sports market intelligence is and how WinningView works.

Live board read

A real-time view of a sports or prediction market — its current implied probabilities, prices, and the moves happening right now.

Implied probability

The probability of an outcome implied by its current market price — for example, a price that corresponds to roughly a 60% chance.

Line / price movement

A change in a market’s price or line over time, often signalling new information or shifting demand.

Steam move

A fast, coordinated move in a market’s price across books, usually driven by a surge of confident money.

Sharp money

Activity from informed, experienced participants whose orders tend to move and shape the market.

Liquidity

How much can be transacted without materially moving the price; higher liquidity means steadier prices.

Large holder

A participant holding a sizeable position in a supported market — concentration that can influence how the market behaves.

Holders intelligence

Insight into where large position holders sit in supported markets, so you can see where concentration is building.

Signal

A rules- or model-based indication that a condition worth attention has occurred, which you can subscribe to and be alerted on.

Prediction market

A market where prices reflect the crowd’s probability estimate for an event’s outcome.

Market microstructure

The mechanics of how a market’s prices form — orders, liquidity, and participants — beneath the headline number.
